Sharon Lee “Sherry” Forsythe, 67, of Rushsylvania, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at her son’s home following a brief illness.
Sherry was born in Bellefontaine on Aug. 29, 1950, to the late Virgil and Virginia Connole Davis. She married Max A. Forsythe on Dec. 13, 1969, in the Huntsville Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death in June 2006.
Sherry worked for many years at Siemens as a data entry secretary. She later opened her own craft store, Highland County Store, initially at their home in Rushsylvania. She later moved the store to downtown West Liberty and greatly expanded her inventory, becoming a popular shop for local and out-of-town guests. For 13 years, she operated the store in West Liberty and truly enjoyed time spent with customers, fellow shopkeepers and the community of West Liberty. Sherry was a member of the Huntsville Presbyterian Church and took great pleasure in the fellowship of the many friends and family of the church. Sherry’s pride and joy were her six grandchildren. She cherished time spent with the grandchildren and in watching them participate in their many activities. Family and friends were always very important to Sherry and she will be missed by many.
Sherry is survived by her sons, Joe (Kim) Forsythe and Andy (Aryn) Forsythe, both of Huntsville, and Jerry (Darlene) Forsythe of Rushsylvania; six grandchildren, T.J., Kelley, Taylor, McKenzie, J.D. and Carolyn; a brother, Mike (Coleen) Davis of Dublin; relatives by marriage, Tom (Carol) Forsythe, Phil (Jean) Forsythe and Betsy (Bob) Shoffstall; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine. Pastor Bryan Meadows officiates the 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, funeral service at the Huntsville Presbyterian Church, followed by burial in Huntsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Huntsville Presbyterian Church, 6490 Fruit St., Huntsville, OH 43324.
