Pack 81 Cub Scout Jay Tuttle works on a project to make homemade masks at his home with the sewing help of his mother, Jes Woolf. The family said the masks will be donated to his mother’s workplace, Irwin Animal Hospital, and for other local collections of personal protective equipment that are running low across Ohio and nationwide. The family used fabric that they had previously saved for a trip to Disney next year, but decided that they wanted to use the special fabric to give the “kids something fun to look at.” The Logan County Health District reported Tuesday that personal protective supplies, including homemade masks for patient use, were being collected at the health district’s walk-up window at 310 S. Main St. In addition, Mary Rutan Hospital is accepting such PPE items — including gloves, masks (all types), digital thermometers, goggles, face shields, N95 Masks, gowns (all types) and hand sanitizer — between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the main entrance of Mary Rutan Hospital’s Logan View location at 110 Dowell Avenue in Bellefontaine.
