Christopher S. Catanzaro, 26, of Urbana, was cited for failure to control related to a crash involving his semi tractor-trailer Wednesday morning on County Road 28.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a northbound semi about 7:45 a.m. near County Road 168 when he traveled off the right side of the road and struck a road sign, a mailbox and snapped a utility pole. The vehicle then struck the ditch and the driver overcorrected. The vehicle then overturned onto the passenger side of the tractor-trailer.
No injuries were reported. Catanzaro was wearing his seat belt. Damage was heavy to the semi, which was towed from the scene.
• Laciee Broderick, 28, address unavailable, was transported by squad to Memorial Hospital in Marysville for treatment of injuries sustained in a rollover crash Wednesday evening.
She was later transported to the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus for further treatment.
Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle that had traveled off the left side of the road on State Route 287 near County Road 150 and had overturned into a bean field.
Deputies were informed by a witness that there were no individuals exiting the vehicle and there did not appear to be any movement inside the vehicle.
Upon arrival, deputies observed a Dodge Caliber in the bean field just north of S.R. 287. Deputies said while the vehicle was upright, there was damage to all areas of the vehicle, as though it had rolled numerous times.
Broderick reportedly advised a squad member that she had been drinking, but informed deputies that she was not the operator of the vehicle. She provided deputies the names of a man and woman whom she said were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. No other individuals were located at the scene.
Thursday morning, deputies spoke with the male party over the phone, and he advised they were not with Broderick at the time of the crash, but she had just visited them at their residence on Township Road 168.
Deputies said investigation continues, including additional follow-up will be needed to obtain a statement from Broderick as well as further personal identifying information.
