Lehman Catholic’s baseball team took control quickly against visiting Riverside and ran away with a 14-3 win in five innings Monday during Northwest Central Conference action.
Lehman put its bats to work quickly, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first and five runs in the bottom of the second for an 8-0 lead. Riverside scored two runs in the top of the third inning to trail 8-2.
The Cavaliers piled on six more in the bottom of the third. That gave Lehman a 14-2 advantage. The Pirates managed just one more run in the top of the fifth.
