Ridgemont’s baseball team started the season by splitting with host Vanlue in a non- league doubleheader. The Wildcats took the first game 7-0, but the Gophers dominated the second game 20-3 in five innings.
Corwin Shreve led Ridgemont by picking up the win in the second game. He had four strikeouts and gave up just three hits.
Also for the Gophers, Cole McKinley had three hits, Austin Elsasser had two hits including a double, Gabe Hamilton had two hits including a double and L.J. Jackson added two hits
