A lifelong regional restaurant owner and operator is offering his newest project to open a restaurant in Bellefontaine to local investors.
John Irmscher plans to open a JT’s Brew & Grill at the 1125 S. Main St. location that has housed restaurants such as Pardner’s and Ponderosa steak houses, Wingers sports bar and most recently, the short-lived Chops & Hops Brew Haus.
His goal is to assemble a team of local investors to fund a $1.2 million to $1.3 million project to buy the building from current owner Jason Duff and renovate it to meet the needs of a moderate-volume restaurant. Ideally, Mr. Irmscher said he would like to have the restaurant operational by the end of this year.
“When I look at a small town, a lot of time there is interest in getting a nice restaurant, but it is a huge investment for just one person,” he said. “This is a chance for smaller investors to pool their money together to make that happen.”
