The REO Club of America is having its annual meet up in Logan County this week, culminating with a parade through the city Saturday morning.
While most of the activities will be dispersed throughout the area, many of the vintage vehicles will be together downtown on Thursday evening during a showing of Steve McQueen’s Bullitt at the Holland Theatre. The showing of this movie is open to the public by donation.
Saturday morning, the parade will proceed at 10 a.m. from the Comfort Inn along Northview Drive; south on Rush Avenue to north Main Street; west onto Sandusky Avenue; south onto Detroit Street; east onto Auburn Avenue; north on Madriver Street; and west onto Court Avenue where they will be photographed passing beneath the concrete street memorial before parking along east Columbus Avenue.
Court Avenue will be closed to local traffic during the parade.
The vehicles will remain parked downtown much of the afternoon as club members view a video in the Holland featuring the history of REOs and the history of Bellefontaine and take part in downtown walking tours conducted by volunteers with the Logan County Historical Society.
Local residents are invited to watch the video at the Holland or follow along with one of the walking tours, which begin near the downtown Friendship Fountain at 1 and 2 p.m.
