The 2017 Logan County Relay for Life is slated for 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, June 16, at a new location this year — Southview Park.
The theme this year is “Seasons of Hope,” with a variety of holidays to be celebrated throughout the evening. Relay kicks off at 6 p.m. with a “Celebrate More Birthdays” opening ceremony, which will recognize honorary co-chairs Nancy Harmon and Connie McGlone.
At 7 p.m. is a “Let’s Discover a Cure” Easter Egg Hunt at the park, followed by “Scare Off Cancer” trick-or-treating at 8 p.m.
Pictures with Santa Claus are offered at 9 p.m. for “All We Want for Christmas Is a Cure,” and a “Give Thanks” luminary ceremony is at 9:30 p.m.
A “Sparks of Hope” Fourth of July sparkler lighting is at 10 p.m., and a “Show Your Love” Valentine’s couple’s dance is planned for 11 p.m.
The night concludes with a “Count Down to a Cure” New Year’s ball drop at midnight.
Various items will be raffled during the evening, including a firearm from AcuSport, and Relay teams will be selling food. A “Smash Cancer” car will be on site again this year.
Participants are asked to take lawn chairs.
