Raymond Leroy Magoto, 81, Quincy, passed away at his residence Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. after a long battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 25, 1935, in Sidney, the son of the late Orville and Margie Cook Magoto. He married Roberta Buck on June 23, 1956, and she passed away May 25, 2014.
Surviving are five daughters, Melody (Ron) Wood of Greenville, Mich., Tammy (Bear Pfeiffer) Magoto of Quincy, Linda (Terry) Wallace of Cartersville, Ga., Becky (Chuck) Crist of Dublin and Christy (Doug) Paquette of Merrillville, Ind.; and two sons, Charles (Vikki) Magoto of Port Jefferson and Tom (Laura) Magoto of DeGraff; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Janet Glick of Sidney.
Four brothers, Orville, Richard, Nicholas and David Magoto are deceased.
He graduated from Harrison-Adams High School in Rosewood. He had worked at the Copeland Corporation in Sidney, as a supervisor retiring in 1998. He liked to fish and garden.
He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney where a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, with the Rev. Peter Langenkamp officiating.
Burial is in Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney.
Memorial contributions may be to Holy Angels Catholic Church and St. Jude’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
