Benjamin Logan’s volleyball team nearly pulled off a dramatic comeback, but the Raiders ran out of steam in the final set against visiting Graham.
The Falcons won the first two sets 25-17, 25-17 before Ben Logan won the next two 25-21, 25-19. Graham then prevailed in the fifth 15-9 to get the win in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division action.
The Raiders are now 8-4 overall and 3-2 in the CBC, while Graham improves to 9-3, 4-1.
Ryelle Gibson led the Raiders with 10 kills, four blocks, and two aces, Molly Vance recorded nine kills, Lily Makin tallied 8 kills, Kylie Frazier recorded seven kills and dished out 17 assists, Lynzee Cronkleton dished out 15 assists and provided 11 digs, Makenna LeVan had six kills, Elliott Bailey came up with 16 digs and Jordan Sexstone added 9 digs.
The Raiders’ JV team beat Graham in straight sets with scores of 26-24 and 25-12. The Raiders’ record improves to 12-0 overall. For BL, Brielle Moorhouse dished out eight assists and added two kills, Lauren Dixon handed out nine assists and tallied three aces, Macy Matthews had five kills, Kyndal Cronkleton recorded six kills, Haleigh Brentlinger had six kills, Lily Blackburn posted three kills, three aces and four digs and Georgia Bates tallied eight digs and two aces.

Tigers take down Irish
West Liberty-Salem’s volleyball team defeated visiting Madison Plains in four sets on Thursday 25-22, 25-10, 18-25, 25-23 for its latest Ohio Heritage Conference win.
The Tigers improve to 9-2 overall and 8-1 in the OHC standings. The Eagles fall to 2-5, 2-5.
Bailey Poppe led WL-Salem with 14 kills, three aces, seven digs, was 6-7 serve receive and 9-10 serving, Leah Ropp posted 15 kills, one ace, four digs and was 10-12 serving, Gabby Williams dished out 40 assists with three kills, three aces, eight digs and was 22-24 serving, Michele Smith had seven kills, three aces, 10 digs, one assist, three blocks and was 20-22 serving and Ally Garver tallied 32 digs, one ace, was 34-38 serve receive and was 12-13 serving.
In junior varsity action, WL-Salem dropped Madison Plains 25-7, 25-17.
Lexy Lee sparked the Tigers with eight kills, two aces and was 5-6 serving, Mallory Bostick had five kills, one ace, two digs and was 5-6 serving, Makenna Smith tallied five aces, nine digs and was 16-16 serving and Bella Meister had three aces, one dig, 18 assists, was 42-42 setting and was 6-7 serving.
WL-Salem travels to Minster on Saturday for a non-league match.
Riverside sweeps W-Goshen
Riverside’s volleyball team kept its momentum going with a three-set win over visiting Waynesfield-Goshen on Tuesday 25-15, 25-10, 25-10 for a Northwest Central Conference victory.
The Pirates stretch their record to 12-1 overall and are 5-0 in the league standings.
Jenna Woods sparked Riverside with 11 kills, five blocks and six digs, Lauryn Sanford had eight kills and 10 assists, Sierra Snow also had 10 assists, Olivia Perk had six kills and Allison Knight tallied eight digs.
Riverside hosts Elgin on Thursday for another NWCC match.
State-ranked Alder drops Chiefs
Bellefontaine’s volleyball team didn’t have an answer for state-ranked Jonathan Alder on Tuesday as the Pioneers claimed a three-set win 25-5, 25-14, 25-8 in Central Buckeye Conference play.
The Pioneers, who are ranked second in the Division II state poll, stay unbeaten at 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the CBC Kenton Trial. The Chieftains fall to 3-8, 1-3.
Bellefontaine hosts Indian Lake on Thursday for a local CBC contest.
North Union zaps Indian Lake
Indian Lake’s volleyball team couldn’t slow down visiting North Union on Tuesday as the Wildcats rolled to a three-set win 25-8, 25-5, 25-9 in a Central Buckeye Conference match.
The Lakers fall to 2-11 on the season and 1-4 in the CBC Mad River, while the Wildcats are now 10-1 and stay atop the division at 5-0.
Allexxie West led Indian Lake with five kills and was 13-15 hitting, Kaylie Tussing was 16-19 serve receive and Allix Cotterman had 12 digs and was 18-19 serve receive.
Indian Lake’s junior varsity Red team beat North Union 25-21, 25-18. Megan Kimbler led the winners with three aces, six digs, was 11-12 serving and 8-8 serve receive, Devin Rice had six kills and was 8-11 hitting and Katie Roby had five kills and was 8-9 hitting.
Indian Lake’s junior varsity Black team fell to North Union 29-31, 25-20, 25-22. Porscha Davis led the Lakers with five aces, three kills, was 11-12 serving and 35-37 setting, Kaleigh Zedlitz had four aces, three kills and was 11-12 serving, Ava Huffman had four kills, three aces, a block and was 9-11 serving and Geona Spires had four aces, was 7-7 serving and was 16-17 serve receive.
Indian Lake makes the short trip to Bellefontaine on Thursday for its next CBC match.
Triad falls to Southeastern
Triad’s volleyball team was bounced by visiting Southeastern in three sets on Tuesday 25-8, 25-16, 25-9 during an Ohio Heritage Conference match.
The Cardinals drop their record to 1-12 on the season and 0-7 in the OHC. The Trojans move to 3-6, 2-6.
Triad hosts Greenon on Thursday for another OHC contest.
