Benjamin Logan’s football team could not stop the rushing attack of visiting North Union Friday as the Wildcats ran wild for a 48-6 victory and claimed the outright Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division title.
The Wildcats finished the regular season on a five-game winning streak to get to 7-3 overall and 5-0 in the CBC Mad River division.
The Raiders finish 2-8, 1-4.
North Union outgained Ben Logan 487-108 in total yardage.
The Wildcats’ duo of Trevor Moran and Trevyn Feasel did the most damage. Moran had 159 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries, while Feasel had 143 rushing yards and three scores on 11 carries.
Morgan had touchdown runs of 9 yards and 33 yards in the first quarter to put North Union ahead 14-0. Feasel added a 3-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter for a 21-0 score.
Feasel tacked on a 13-yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter to give the Wildcats a 28-0 advantage.
Ben Logan’s only score of the game came with just over a minute to go in the first half. Austin McGowan threw a 70-yard TD pass to Blake Peterson. The extra-point attempt failed for a 28-6 halftime score.
In the third quarter, Moran had a 3-yard TD run and Feasel broke free for a 50-yard TD run to push the Wildcats to a 41-6 lead with 1:28 left in the quarter.
The Wildcats’ defense added the final score in the fourth quarter when Isaiah Radcliff took an interception back for a touchdown with 6:56 remaining in the game.
McGowan ended the game with five completions for 89 yards. Peterson led the receivers with 71 yards on two catches and Taggert Beaty chipped in with 31 rushing yards.
Defensively for the Raiders, Tanner Anspach recorded 5 1/2 tackles, while Kaidin Whitrock, Joel Abbott and Steele Boysel each had four tackles.
