Cracked Pot Studio at Union Station in Bellefontaine recently donated $5,000 to the Logan County Vets to D.C. following a project over the past year to create ceramic poppies for sale. Studio representative Thelma Downing Mathews, along with local potters, created and glazed the garden poppies in the pottery studio, and the group reached their goal of selling enough poppies to raise $5,000 for the annual veterans trip. Pictured with the poppies and Mathews to accept the check included Vietnam War veterans Larry Lance and Glenn Gault, both from West Liberty, along with Logan County Vets to D.C. President Scott Stewart. “This was such a nice outreach and required many hours of work from potters at the Cracked Pot Studio. We’re very thankful for their hard work and generosity,” Stewart said, relating that the support of the local community has helped to make the annual trip possible. (LOGAN COUNTY VETS TO D.C. PHOTO)
