Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department are investigating a March 14 assault, in which, a bouncer at the Beer Vault, 149 W. Columbus Ave., sustained a broken leg.
Around 1:40 a.m., officers found Shae T. Kinnison of Bellefontaine laying on the floor of the main entrance in extreme pain from the obvious injury.
A Bellefontaine squad arrived and transported him to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment.
Witnesses told officers Kinnison was attempting to remove a violent male patron who tried to hit another male with a beer bottle. The suspect shoved Kinnison to the floor and into a set of steps and fell onto Kinnison, breaking his leg.
Women file threat complaints
Indica Phlipot of Bellefontaine reported a named male suspect threatened her on March 23 when he walked by 728 Albert St. and displayed a handgun. Officers are investigating.
• Tonya Koppenhaver of Bellefontaine told officers a male coworker threatened her while she was working at a southend fast food restaurant on Wednesday. She and her husband completed statements about an earlier incident with the suspect.
Drivers cited in crashes
Kimberly Ramay, 52, of Bellefontaine, was cited for an improper lane change after a two-vehicle crash in the 1100 block of south Main Street around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers report she drove an sport utility vehicle south from an east side parking lot, around the rear of a tractor-trailer and into the driver’s side rear corner of a southbound car operated by Patricia A. Messner, 82, of Bellefontaine. Damage was light.
• Tyler D. Clemmer, 25, of Bellefontaine, was cited for a marked lanes violation after a 3:35 p.m. Tuesday crash on Spring Avenue near Hamilton Street.
He was operating a westbound car around a legally parked car when he experienced a coughing fit. The car continued left of center and hit an eastbound lawn tractor with a trailer operated by Clarence L. Coyer, 74, of Bellefontaine, who was near the curb.
Damage was light and there were no reported injuries.
Windshield destroyed
The windshield of a sport utility vehicle registered to Kayla Gault, 521 Albert St., was completely shattered while parked at the residence overnight, according to a March 21 complaint filed with officers.
