Phyllis M. Pohlschneider, 85, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 10:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2018, in Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Piqua, on Jan. 30, 1933, the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Ladonna L. Reece Francis.
She is survived by a daughter, Leslie Ann “LeeAnn” (Ron) Swonguer of Huntsville; three sons, Dan (Brenda) Shively of Bellefontaine, Charlie (Rhonda) Shively of Shelbyville, Texas, and John P. Shively of DeGraff; three grandchildren, Jana R. (Tim) McPherson, Kylene (Josh) Pick and Troy (Amber) Shively; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Eileen Ambos of Jackson Center and Mary Jane Martin of Covington; her first husband, Ralph Shively; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Forest “Earl” Pohlschneider; and a brother, B. Dean Francis.
Phyllis was a 1951 graduate of Piqua High School and worked as a homemaker and as a teacher’s aide for Bellefontaine City Schools for 18 years before she retired. She enjoyed nature and gardening in her flower beds. She loved to care for her family. especially cooking and sewing for them and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pastor Ed Shady officiates a memorial service at noon Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, following visitation that begins at 10 a.m. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.
