Phillip S. Wagner, 79, of Huntsville, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2024, at his home.
Phillip was born on October 16, 1944, in Lima, OH, a son of the late Gerald Alvin and Opal Lavoone Gross Wagner. He married Karen Sue Blankenship on December 28, 1969, in Westville, OH and she preceded him in death on November 9, 2016.
Phil is survived by two children, Greg (Marlene) Wagner of Celina, OH and Jackie (Greg) Sell of Huntsville, three grandchildren, Caleb, Hailey, and Blake, five siblings, Carl H. (Rose Mary) Wagner of Huntsville, Gerald A. (Patricia) Wagner of Reno, NV, Robert L. Wagner of Huntsville, Dorothea M. (Larry) Longbrake of Huntsville, and Maryann Klipstine of Sidney, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Phillip was a 1963 graduate of Indian Lake High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea during Vietnam. He retired from Honda Marysville Plant in 2012 after 26 years. Phillip was a member of Teamsters Local 908 in Lima, Logan County Farm Bureau, Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39 in Lakeview, OH, VFW Post 1080 and Harold Kerr American Legion Post 173, both of Bellefontaine, OH. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing cards, traveling, and just “farting around”. He loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main, St, Lakeview.
Visitation is Tuesday, April 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery with military honors performed by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Phillip’s memory to Logan County Cancer Society c/o Mary Rutan Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project.
