Philip S. VanVoorhis, 76, of Bellefontaine passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Springfield Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 4, 1945, in Bellefontaine to the late Everett and Cecil Pash VanVoorhis.
On July 24, 1965, he married Imogene Kiser and they have been married for 56 years. Philip worked at Super Foods ( Nash Finch) in the warehouse as a lift operator and retired after 38 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, as well as fishing, hunting and camping. He helped organize the family reunions and enjoyed visiting with his family around campfires. One of his hobbies was CB radios, his handle was Sly Fox. He was a kind and generous man and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James (Arlene) VanVoorhis and Terry(Kellie) VanVoorhis; 7 grandchildren, Kristina, Steven, Arica VanVoorhis, Diana and Sarah VanVoorhis, Cody Truman and Andrea Tabor; 7 great grandchildren; brothers Charles(Annette) and Arthur VanVoorhis; sister Everetta Titus; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends Don and Connie Hughes. He was preceded in death by brothers, LeRoy, John, Robert, Karl and Jeffrey VanVoorhis; sisters, Rosena Wesser and Doris Deal.
Pastor Floyd Lundy will officiate a funeral service 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home and Crematory, 5591 U.S. Route 68 South, West Liberty, Ohio 43357.
