Philip E. Cook, age 56 of DeGraff, passed away on March 5, 2022 in the comfort of his home with family and friends surrounding him.
Born on April 1, 1966 in Urbana, Phil was a son of the late Melvin E. and Sue A. (Calland) Cook.
Phil is survived by his wife Tina Anderson-Cook whom he married on July 5, 2014; children Kady (Blake Youtsey) Cook of Urbana, OH, Wade Cook (Lauren Plantz) of Tremont City, OH, Megan Brandyberry (Charles Myers), Anthony (Erin) Brandyberry, and Lance Brandyberry all of Missouri and Shelbi Brandyberry of Sidney, OH. He was a proud grandfather to his adopted granddaughter Dezeria Brandyberry of Sidney, and a great granddaughter, Lyrica Scholl. Two brothers, Wayne (Debbie) Cook of Urbana and Steve (Kara) Cook of DeGraff, father-in-law, John M. Anderson, sister-in-law, Sally M. (Jon M. Karg) Anderson, and several nieces and nephews survive Phil. He is also survived by his good friend Steve Borton, and will be missed by many friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Pat Anderson.
Phil graduated from Graham High School, St. Paris, in 1984. His passion was the Champaign County Fair where he was involved for 46 years with the Triple “S” Livestock 4-H Club as a member and as a head advisor. He also enjoyed taking his Farmall ‘M” to tractor pulls in Plain City, OH and Poor Farmer’s Campground, Fletcher, OH. Phil worked for the State of Ohio Transportation Dept., District 7, for 20 years.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris. Graveside funeral services will be on Friday, March 11, at 11 a.m. in the Rosedale Cemetery, St. Rt. 235 N, Conover, with Pastor Jeremy Spence of the St. Paris First Baptist Church presiding.
