They will also have their semi-annual Dumpster days this weekend, all the while trying to improve conditions for emergency responders to keep around-the-clock coverage.
Discussion of these issues came at trustees’ regular monthly meeting Monday evening.
The first of the issues is the marijuana hearing, which is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11. Perry Township will be joined by trustees from Jefferson and Zane townships for a meeting that will include presentations from the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office and the Logan-Union-Champaign Regional Planning Commission, Trustees Chairman John Brose said.
With medical marijuana becoming legal in Ohio, local level government must have proper zoning rules in place to regulate under what conditions marijuana may be grown or distributed, Brose said. The hearing will be informational only and each township that attends will be responsible for approving its own set of zoning regulations.
That meeting is public and will take place at the East Liberty Masonic Lodge, 3232 S. Main St.
An ongoing issue of bullets leaving the shooting range at the West Mansfield Conservation Club has also resurfaced. It will be discussed at a 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, board of zoning appeals meeting.
