A Sidney man and a Columbus woman were arrested Friday for possession of fentanyl during a traffic stop conducted by the Logan County Unified drug task force.
Driver, Roger LV Gross Jr., 55, of Sidney, and the front seat passenger, Karen S. Schloss, 55, from Columbus, each were arrested after the 6:40 p.m. stop for a vehicle with a loud exhaust.
Gross was found to be driving under a suspended driver’s license. He and Schloss were asked to exit the vehicle.
When Schloss exited the vehicle, officers observed a pipe used to smoke marijuana in the door handle. Gross provided consent to search his vehicle and a plastic container containing suspected fentanyl was located inside the vehicle, along with a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana.
Schloss admitted that she had narcotics on her person and she pulled a folded piece of paper out of her pants pocket containing fentanyl.
