Tom Bush, 38, and Lori Bailey, 35, both of 226 N. Madriver St., Bellefontaine, each was charged with child endangering and domestic violence following an incident Friday morning.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded about 6 a.m. to the area of 600 E. Sandusky Ave., on a report of an intoxicated woman who said she had been assaulted.
Officers met with Ms. Bailey at that location, and she said her live-in boyfriend, Mr. Bush, had allegedly punched her in the face during an altercation that morning. Officers observed that she had a visible mark across her nose that appeared to be a fingernail scratch.
After speaking with her, officers went to the couple’s address to speak with Mr. Bush. They found him inside the residence, and observed scratch marks on his abdomen.
He told officers that he had attempted to push her away as she was swinging a knife at him that morning. Officers had observed a large butcher knife in the kitchen area, and noted that the kitchen floor was wet.
Three children, ages 7, 11 and 14, were asleep upstairs at the residence, officers noted. Logan County Children’s Services was contacted.
Both Mr. Bush and Ms. Bailey were placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
