The Ohio Hi-Point school board afforded its superintendent an increase in salary during a regular meeting this week following a positive performance review.
Superintendent Dr. Rick Smith earned an overall excellent rating from the school board following a scheduled evaluation in executive session. His annual salary increased to $146,432. The salary is effective Aug. 1 through July 31, 2018.
Board members gave the superintendent high marks for his rolling out of expanded course programing, as well as his preparation and planning to modernize Hi-Point’s facilities and course offerings.
In other personnel matters, one-year limited teaching contracts were afforded to Mark Barger, welding; Kathryn Simmons, English, and James Davis, math, effective July 1.
