Ridgemont Board of Education members extended interim superintendent contracts to two retired superintendents, Dr. Suzanne Darmer and Ann Harvey, during their Thursday evening meeting.
Darmer, former Ada Exempted Village Schools superintendent, and Harvey, former Auglaize County Educational Service Center superintendent, will work an average of three days per week with more or less as needed to fill the superintendent vacancy as Emmy Beeson moves to a new position at Tolles Career and Technical Center in Plain City
Beeson’s last day in the district is July 31, and her role as superintendent Tolles Career and Technical Center begins Aug. 1.
“Together, their 28 years of superintendent experience will allow them to provide stability and continuity for Ridgemont’s vision while the BOE seeks the best candidate to sustain the district’s mission while moving it to the next level of excellence,” Beeson said.
“I am excited to come to Ridgemont to continue the excellent work that has been done in the school community,” Darmer said in a release. “I wholeheartedly support the school district’s vision, mission and beliefs.”
“I am extremely honored to work with the Ridgemont Local School District,” Harvey said. “Over the last several years, I have witnessed creative and innovative teaching and an environment where shared ideas are valued and developed for common goals. I look forward to meeting the students, staff, community, and together continuing to enhance Ridgemont’s momentum.”
