Robert F. Morris, 62, of 420 Oak St., Lakeview, was issued a summons for assault related to a reported neighbor dispute that occurred Thursday afternoon.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 3:40 p.m. to 410 S. Oak St., Lakeview, in reference to an assault.
Upon arrival, deputies met with resident Mikel L. Shoffner, 56, and they noted that he had a cut on his upper lip that was bleeding and he also had blood on the front of his shirt.
Shoffner reported that his neighbor, Morris, came over to his property that day and that an argument began regarding a fence that separated their properties. He said the argument became heated, and that Morris allegedly made threats against him and also punched him in the face.
Shoffner stated he never assaulted Morris and he declined medical treatment.
Morris said Shoffner had poked at him and spit at him, and that’s when he punched Shoffner. He was issued the summons.
