City of Bellefontaine, village of Lakeview offices closed until further notice
Logan County municipalities have begun taken actions to promote social distancing during the course of the coronovirus outbreak.
City of Bellefontaine officials announced Monday that the municipal building at 135 N. Detroit St. is closed to the public, “until further notice.”
The action is being done to limit community to the coronavirus, city officials relate.
Lakeview Mayor Ryan Shoffstall announced Monday that village offices there will also be closed to the public until further notice.
“Staff will be on-site and able to answer any questions by telephone,”
Lakeview officials announced. “Please use outside dropbox to deliver any documents or utility payments.
“Please be understanding as we service our residents and businesses to the best of our abilities while maintaining a safe work environment for everyone.”
The village council meeting Monday in Lakeview went on as scheduled, but village officials were planning to meet any visitors at the door in an effort to address their business without having gather face-to-face.
Still, any member of the public that wanted to for the meeting could have, village represenatives said.
Members of the public wishing to participate in school board meetings for Indian Lake or Benjamin Logan did so via an online stream of the meeting, as schools closed off in-person participation because of the coronavirus.
Ohio Attorney General David Yost reportedly announced during a recent press conference that during the coronavirus emergency, boards of education and other public bodies may meet without admitting members of the public, as long as the board provides another means of public access, such as a live video feed of its meeting.
