Sara Holycross, 36, of 645 N. Detroit St., was charged Sunday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and impeding traffic.
At 1:25 a.m., she was stopped in the 600 block of west Columbus Avenue after officers observed several marked lane violations.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department detected an odor of alcohol and conducted field sobriety tests. Their observations were consistent with the use of stimulants or hallucinogens.
They asked for a urine sample and the motorist refused.
• Garrel S. Estep, 27, of Urbana, was charged today with public intoxication. He was found around 3:50 a.m. in the parking lot of La Palma Mexican Restaurant, 2201 S. Main St., visibly intoxicated and unsteady on his feet.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Thieves target unlocked cars
Malesia M. Roby of Huntsville reported Monday a purse was taken from her unlocked car at either Family Video, 143 N. Main St., or Community Markets, 309 N. Main St. She told officers she left the purse in the vehicle during visits to both businesses within a half hour prior to 6 p.m.
• Joshua D. Green of Belle Center was able to retrieve his gym bag after he drove after two men who took it from his car. He was at Knowlton Library, 220 N. Main St., when the suspects were spotted around 7 p.m. getting into his car.
When they saw he was following them, they dropped the bag near Main Street and Sandusky Avenue.
