Cody R. Jones, 22, of Urbana, sustained non-incapacitating injuries Friday when the driver of a white utility pickup truck merged into his lane in the 1200 block of south Main Street.
Jones told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department he was in the southbound curb lane around 3:35 p.m. when the white truck came into his lane and clipped the front tire of his motorcycle. Jones lost control and his motorcycle hit the curb before sliding about 40 feet.
The truck driver stopped, asked if the motorcyclist was OK and helped him get the motorcycle of the road before getting back into his vehicle and driving off.
Damage was heavy to the motorcycle. Jones was wearing a helmet.
