At 10:40 p.m., officers arrived at 125 W. Brown Ave. to learn that resident Tammy Damron asked him to leave after he became drunk and belligerent with other residents of a boarding house.
Officers found him inside and handcuffed him before leading him to a cruiser. Along the way, he repeatedly lunged at and threatened the residents.
Once in the cruiser, he began to bang his head into a side window.
He was lodged in jail.
Motorcyclist charged with OVI
Jeffrey R. O’Hara, 42, of 8724 County Road 2, Zanesfield, was charged Sunday with OVI and cited for failure to comply, speeding, no taillights, expired registration, no operators license, failure to reinstate, driving under suspension and reckless operation.
Around 2:15 a.m., while officers were investigating an incident at Comfort Inn, 260 Northview Drive, they spoke with him as a potential witness, but he was too drunk to speak clearly. Soon, he was observed riding off on a motorcycle at a high-rate of speed.
An officer pursued him at 70 mph south on Main Street and over the U.S. Route 33 overpass. He stopped at 1016 N. Main St. and tried to hide behind trees.
The officer tried to initiate a traffic stop, but O’Hara restarted the 1996 Harley-Davidson and sped off, flinging gravel.
He crashed the motorcycle into a brush pile and pole behind a house.
Officers report he had urinated himself and was having trouble standing and speaking clearly.
He refused to take sobriety tests or submit a breathalyzer sample.
