Mildred L. Shepard, 80, of Huntsville, has passed on through the pearly gates on Oct. 28, 2017, at the home of her daughter in Andersonville, Tenn.
Mildred “Wilm” was born Jan. 30, 1937, to the late Daniel Alvin and Martha Herren Wallace in Huntsville. She had three sisters, Virginia Hulbert, Dorothy Taylor and Carol Graham and four brothers, Robert, Max, Carl and Donald Wallace, who preceded her in death.
On April 17, 1964, she married Jack Wm. Shepard, who also preceded her in death, as did a son, Daniel.
Survivors are three stepchildren, Jack A. Shepard of Bellefontaine, Mona L. (Doug) Keith of Andersonville, Tenn., and Jodi B. (Andy) Hatfield of Lakeview; eight grandchildren, Joshua Shepard, Jessica (Danny) Hixon, Aaron A. Diener, Nova N. Mowery, Vince J. (Jen) Plikerd, Marcus A. (Amber) Plikerd, Christian W. Plikerd and Alan J. Hatfield, 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; five sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Wallace, Sybil Wallace and Betty Wallace, all of Huntsville, Pat Wallace of Bellefontaine, and Judy Fernandez of Charlotte, N.C.; and a brother-in-law, Junior Hulbert of Bellefontaine.
Mildred was a graduate of Huntsville School in 1955. Huntsville was her home for 73 years from 1937 to 2010.
She loved her family, planting flowers, “Grandparents Day” at Huntsville Elementary and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds.
The Rev. Bryan Meadows begins funeral services at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Huntsville United Methodist Church, following visitation that begins at 2 p.m. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
