Michael Eugene Wykoff, 64, of Columbus, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, in Circleville.
He was born in Dayton on Oct. 24, 1953. Mike is survived by his parents, Norman and Maxine Bacon Wykoff of Lakeview; and his sisters, Phyllis Wykoff of Hamilton, and Marcia Wykoff of Circleville.
Mike grew up in Dayton and was active in the Methodist community as a young man. Music was always a love of Mike’s and he participated in band during his school years. Most recently he enjoyed worship, friends, music and activities at King Avenue United Methodist Church.
He graduated from Sinclair Community College in Dayton as a registered nurse. He specialized in psychiatric nursing for many years. After working as a nurse in Florida and Texas, he ultimately specialized in ENT surgery at Ohio State University where he worked until his retirement.
Mike had a wide variety of interests and friends and enjoyed helping others whenever he could. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Schoedinger Funeral Home, North Chapel, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, following visitation that begins at 1 p.m. The Rev. Colleen Ogle officiates. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mike’s life. Burial is private.
