Michael D. “Batman” Keaton, 70, of DeGraff, passed away at 3:29 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Springfield Regional Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born in Kalamazoo, Mich., on Jan. 18, 1948, to the late Lee Calvin and Thelma Irene Sherman Keaton.
On May 15, 1972, Mike married the former Vicki Strayer in Augusta, Mich., and she survives, along with their daughter, Crystal Keaton; two brothers, Lee Keaton and Arlis (Cynthia) Fleshman; five nephews, Randy Blankenship, Richard Mission, Tyler Mission, Peter Keaton and Jeffery (Jodi) Waters; and three cats, Mandy, Ollie and Ora Jean.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Michael Keaton Jr.; and a sister, Carolyn Smith.
Mike attended Renewed Strength Church in Urbana and had worked as a printing press operator at International Paper in Kalamazoo, Mich. He was a very generous person who enjoyed cooking and was very competitive in sports.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St., DeGraff, where Pastor Mark Hackworth officiates a funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22. Burial follows in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
