The Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services Board of Logan and Champaign Counties approved a $3.86 million annual budget Tuesday a year after successfully passing a replacement levy that increases taxpayer support from the two counties by $150,000.
The budget, which is for the fiscal year that runs from July 1 through June 30, 2018, is up from the current $3.5 million budget, Executive Director David Higgins reported.
The money is used to support various community agencies that deal directly with individuals with substance abuse and mental health issues, preventative and intervention measures in the local school systems and housing assistance programs for those in need.
