Merle Wayne McWilliams, 71, of Belle Center, passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 30, 2017, at his home. He was born in Springfield on Feb. 9, 1946, to the late Janet E. Weaver and W. Merle McWilliams.
Wayne was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley A. Baughman McWilliams on June 6, 2017, and a brother, Stephen McWilliams.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Wayne worked as a glass technician for 22 years at Gates Brothers Glass. He loved camping, being with his dog, and spending time with his wife Shirley.
Wayne is survived by his children, Jack (Kimberly) Miller and Amy C. Miller, both of Belle Center, and Larry Stephenson of Bellefontaine; three grandchildren, Eirika Reed, Courtney (Trent) Kuhn and Samantha Garrett; four great-grandchildren and one that is due soon; siblings, Winnie (Donn) Volbrecht of Belle Center, Edgar McWilliams of Russells Point, Rhonda (Mike) Haines of Huber Heights and Michelle (Lee) Painter and Twila Dearwester, both of Bellefontaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There are no services for Wayne at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Road, Dublin, OH 43017.
