Martha E. Bodenmiller, 92, of DeGraff passed away Friday morning, Feb. 10, 2017, at Logan Acres Care Center.
She was born in Bellefontaine on Dec. 18, 1924, to the late Loren E. and Helen E. Huber Williamson. Martha married the love of her life, Donald T. Bodenmiller, on June 23, 1946, and he preceded her in death on July 13, 1998, after 52 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Hanks and Eileen Leidinger; and two great-grandchildren, Harley Samantha Doseck and Melissa Michelle Heidinger.
A 1942 graduate of DeGraff High School, Martha worked as a secretary for the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home for many years. She loved playing cards with friends and family. Martha also enjoyed word games, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo and eating peppermint ice cream. She loved to cook and bake; Sunday dinners were a special family time. Everyone enjoyed her homemade caramels and fresh baked buns. Martha was a member of the Logan County Friendly Senior Center and the DeGraff Freewill Baptist Church.
Martha is survived by her children, Mike Bodenmiller of South Charleston, Susie Bodenmiller of Quincy, Ray “Toby” (Julie) Bodenmiller of Bellefontaine and Jim (Jo Ann) Bodenmiller of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Laura (Stanley) Heidinger, Shane (Nicci) Heath, Toby Lin Bodenmiller, Crystal Shields, Codey (Abby Gibson) Bodenmiller, Bradley Bodenmiller, Dustin Bodenmiller and Brooke (Justin) Adkins; three step-grandchildren, Dan Defibaugh, Katie (Derick) Organ and Lindsey Hudson; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St., DeGraff, where Pastor Bruce Keeling officiates the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
