Marilyn Grace Hofmann, 77, of Eldridge, Iowa, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, after a sudden illness.
She was born Aug. 29, 1938, in Logan County, a daughter of the late Marion and Alice Hurley Deardurff. She also was preceded in death by brothers, John and Marion Earl Deardurff.
She married Paul Hofmann on Sept. 14, 1963, in the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Bellefontaine, and he survives.
She retired from Rock Island Arsenal, Ill., after 26 years of service. She was a quiet, gentle and generous woman. She enjoyed music, the Quad City Symphony Orchestra and Playcrafters Barn Theatre, playing 500 with her church friends, reading, coloring and traveling with her husband.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Davenport, Iowa, where she volunteered as she did at the library.
Also surviving are a son, David (Tami Swenson) Hofmann of Des Moines, Iowa; siblings, Carolyn Deardurff and Dale Deardurff, both of Bellefontaine; and her church family.
Funeral services were Sept. 1 in her church.
