Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Macochee EMS responded about 5:50 p.m. Friday to 5003 County Road 168, West Liberty, on a report of an unresponsive man and suspected drug overdose.
Deputies and paramedics reportedly found a 27-year-old Woodstock man with labored breathing who was slumped over while sitting on a toilet at the home.
Paramedics administered Narcan to revive the man, and he was transported by squad to Mary Rutan Hospital. The 27-year-old reportedly told deputies that he had attempted to inject himself with either heroin or ecstasy, and when that didn’t work, he reportedly snorted the powder out of a spoon.
At the scene, deputies located numerous drug paraphernalia items, including syringes, a burnt spoon and a lighter.
A report and potential charges were sent to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.
