Ryan M. Treen, 27, of 11322 Mohawk Path, Lakeview, was charged with felonious assault related to an incident Monday evening at his residence.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to his address about 10:50 p.m. on a report of a woman who was screaming.
When they arrived, the found that Treen’s live-in girlfriend, 28, was holding a wash cloth to her forehead and there was blood on her chin and her left arm. She also reportedly had been yelling at Treen when deputies arrived, stating, “You busted my head and there is blood everywhere.”
He initially told deputies that he was drunk and had not meant to hurt her. He was placed under arrest and deputies observed that he displayed signs of intoxication.
During the confrontation, his girlfriend said Treen also attempted to choke her and deputies noticed a mark on her neck. She said he then came up behind her and pushed her head into a table, which caused a deep cut to her head. Deputies also noticed that her left eye was turning black and blue.
The victim was treated at the scene by Indian Lake EMS personnel and refused treatment to the hospital.
Treen was lodged in the Logan County Jail, and faces a possible additional charge of domestic violence.
Woman charged with possession of cocaine after JDC visit
Rebecca F. Cotter, 42, of 5409 County Road 1, West Liberty, was charged with possession of cocaine and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after she reportedly attempted to visit an incarcerated inmate at the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
Deputies received a report about 8:10 p.m. Monday from corrections staff at the JDC that Cotter had a strong odor of alcohol on her person.
Deputies were provided with a description of her vehicle. After Cotter left the JDC, deputies initiated a traffic stop with her vehicle at Speedway, 329 S. Main St., Bellefontaine.
While deputies were speaking of Cotter, they observed that she displayed signs of intoxication. She consented to a field sobriety test.
A search also was conducted of her vehicle and deputies seized a thermos containing an alcoholic beverage, along with several baggies, foil and straws with a white powder residue. Deputies also seized from her wallet a baggie containing a white powder residue and a straw, and a bag in the center console with a substance that field-tested positive for cocaine.
At the jail, the defendant refused to take a urine test. A report also will be forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and open container.
