Charles C. Houser, 47, of 285 N. Main St., Lakeview, was charged with assault and disorderly conduct related to an incident Thursday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area about 7:30 p.m. on a report of a domestic dispute. His ex-wife requested to meet with deputies at a laundry mat nearby Houser’s residence to fill them in on a dispute with Houser.
She told deputies that when she was dropping off her 7-year-old daughter at Houser’s residence, he allegedly cursed at her and made an obscene gestures toward her. His ex-wife said Houser then threw an open can of beer in her direction, which caused the beer to spill inside her vehicle, on her face and on her clothing.
Deputies responded to the defendant’s address to speak with him, but said they received no answer at the door. About 90 minutes later, Houser called the sheriff’s office and asked to speak with a deputy.
When deputies arrived, they said Houser showed signs of impairment. He claimed that his ex-wife spilled the beer on herself during an argument with him. He was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
