Eric Glenn Harold Coe, 38, of 11279 Poplar St., Lakeview, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a schedule IV drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest related to an incident Monday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to 11516 Ash Ave., Lakeview, about 7:20 p.m. in reference to a suspicious person walking in the area who appeared to be on drugs.
Deputies located the suspect, Coe, walking in a wooded area, carrying a blue box and two plastic bags.
During a search of his person, deputies located a partial straw with a white powder residue. The defendant also seemed to be sweating excessively considering the temperature outside and he was having trouble staying focused, deputies said.
While searching through Coe’s belongings, deputies found suspected heroin capsules along with other pills, suspected marijuana and a knife. Upon questioning him about the drugs, Coe reportedly began to run from deputies and gave chase after being ordered to stop because he was under arrest.
The defendant reportedly tripped while he was running, and deputies placed him under arrest. Indian Lake EMS checked him at the scene after he complained about his knees hurting after the fall.
He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
Suspect lodged for criminal trespass, OVI
Elliot D. Gilbert, 52, of Richwood, was charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs following an incident Sunday evening.
Deputies were first dispatched about 8:50 p.m. to a report of an active domestic dispute at 5118 County Road 152, East Liberty.
At that residence, deputies spoke with Monie Coleman, 48, who said she had been having trouble with Gilbert coming to the home approximately 20 times that day and making threats against her. She said Gilbert and her best friend used to date.
Coleman said at one point, she went outside to confront him, and a physical altercation took place, where both individuals fell to the ground and sustained minor injuries. She said she did not want to file assault charges against Elliot.
Deputies located Elliot during a traffic stop on State Route 287 near State Route 347. Signs of intoxication were observed, and deputies noted that Elliot was unsteady on his feet.
Elliot admitted he drank between six to eight beers that day. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and he was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he refused to take a breath test.
He also was cited for no operator’s license.
Summonses issued after bar incident
Leonard Guyton Jr., 44, of Ada, and Thomas Oates, 46, of Kenton, each was issued summonses for disorderly conduct related to an incident early Sunday morning at Froggy’s at the Lake, 11065 Township Road 293, Lakeview.
Deputies working a security detail at the bar report that shortly after midnight, Guyton and Oates were in a physical confrontation. Guyton reportedly was knocked backwards into a golf cart during the dispute, and Guyton allegedly punched Oates, who reportedly fell to the ground and was knocked unconscious.
Oates was transported by Indian Lake EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital, where he was served a summons from deputies. Guyton also was issued a summons.
