Todd A. Prall, 43, of 11027 Mohawk Path, Lakeview, was charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest and was served Logan County and Hardin County warrants during a traffic stop about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies reportedly attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of state routes 117 and 273. The vehicle reportedly fled and turned into the Williams RV Park, 11707 S.R. 117, Belle Center.
The vehicle was operated by Prall’s son, Devin, 24, of Huntsville, who told deputies that his father had asked him to attempt to flee because he had an active warrant. Devin was issued a citation for speed and driving under suspension.
Deputies located Todd hiding behind a storage shed on the property, and placed him under arrest. He was lodged in the jail. The Logan County failure to appear felony warrant was for an original charge of trafficking in heroin, deputies said.
Pair lodged for domestic violence following Memorial Day dispute
Steven J. Maag, and his wife, Angela M., both 46 and of 3924 S. County Road 31, Bellefontaine, each was charged with domestic violence Monday related to an incident involving an alleged physical confrontation with their son and his girlfriend at their residence.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 8:10 p.m. to their address in reference to an active domestic complaint, and were informed that the son, Jacob Maag, 19, had sustained an injury to his jaw. Riverside EMS responded to the scene as well.
When deputies arrived, Jacob told them he had been at a cookout with his girlfriend, Brittany Bailey, 19, who also resides with him and his parents at the C.R. 31 address. The couple had been in a verbal disagreement there, so he returned to his parents’ residence.
Bailey then stopped at the Maag residence to speak with Jacob, and at that time was confronted by Mrs. Maag. Bailey said Mrs. Maag made threats to harm her, and allegedly slammed her leg in the vehicle door and then prevented her from getting out of the vehicle.
Mrs. Maag also reportedly asked her daughter to remove Bailey and Jacob’s infant child from the vehicle and take the child inside the house.
Jacob said he intervened as his mother started to physically remove Bailey from the vehicle. Jacob said his parents then were “pushing and shoving” him, and that his mother allegedly struck him in the face. He was treated by Riverside EMS at the scene.
Deputies placed Mr. and Mrs. Maag under arrest and transported them to the Logan County Jail.
Mr. Maag also was charged with falsification after he allegedly called in a report to the sheriff’s office about 7:15 p.m. that evening, claiming that Bailey was driving erratically and also claiming to be Jacob when he made the report.
