Bryce L. Patch, 27, of 111 Maple St., Belle Center, was charged with aggravated menacing related to an incident Monday involving a traffic incident.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report his former girlfriend, Brooke Snyder, 21, of Belle Center, stopped at the sheriff’s office about 8:45 p.m., and was visibly upset and shaking.
She told deputies that she had been driving in the Belle Center area that evening and became concerned when she observed Patch in his vehicle on Buckeye Street, stating that she has an active aggravated vehicular assault case against him.
Snyder said he then began following her onto Plum Street, and as she tried to evade him on various village streets, he reportedly would pass her vehicle and drive in front of her.
At one point, she said he exited his vehicle with a sledgehammer in his hand. She reportedly that she backed her vehicle away from him and continued driving. Patch reportedly entered his vehicle and continued to follow her onto State Route 638, and eventually passing her and yelling obscenities at her.
Deputies went to the defendant’s residence, and he told deputies that he had attempted to talk with Snyder that evening, but stated he was not carrying a sledgehammer. Upon a search of Patch’s vehicle, deputies located a sledgehammer in the front passenger seat. He was transported to the Logan County Jail.
