Officers of the West Liberty Police Department are currently investigating a stabbing incident that reportedly occurred Tuesday at Lions Park that resulted in the treatment of two victims at an area hospital, along with one arrest.
Josue Aldrete, 20, of Urbana, was arrested late Tuesday evening and has been charged with a felony count of aggravated robbery. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail at 1:20 a.m.
About 7:50 a.m., West Liberty officers were informed that two men were receiving treatment at Mary Rutan Hospital for stab wounds related to an altercation at Lions Park in the village.
The 20-year-old and 26-year-old victims were able to speak briefly with officers and provide information that led to Aldrete’s arrest.
The investigation continues, and officers are being assisted by detectives of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Urbana Police Division.
