Virgil Hinkle, 53, pleaded guilty during Monday hearings in Logan County Common Pleas Court to the fourth-degree felony theft of a motor vehicle charge.
On Dec. 21, he and codefendant Henry Hatfield, 57, took a car owned by Mindy Fulmer from the 400 S. Elm St. parking lot of Factory Direct Sales, Chief Assistant Logan County Prosecutor Eric Stewart said.
Officers of the Sidney Police Department responded that night to a report of a suspicious vehicle near Wilson Memorial Hospital and found the two men, neither of whom had valid driver’s licenses, intoxicated in the stolen car.
Mr. Hinkle was released on a recognizance bond pending his April 22 sentencing and Judge Mark S. O’Connor issued a stern warning that he was not to drink and must adhere to an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.

She will be labeled a Tier I sex offender at her April 25 sentencing. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors agreed not to oppose a future motion to be released from sex offender registration requirements after 10 years.
