Mabel Watt Wilson, born Aug. 3, 1922, youngest daughter of Wendell and Alta Kinney, lifelong resident of Logan County, Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed quietly at Logan Acres on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2020.
Mrs. Wilson, born in Bellefontaine, was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School in 1940. She was married William S. Watt for 66 years until his death in 2007, and later married Baird Wilson who also preceded her death. She had one daughter, Sandra Watt, who preceded her in death in 1965. Mrs. Watt was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Kinney and a sister Louise Sargent.
Mabel, a longtime resident of Bellefontaine is survived by two sons and a daughter, William C. (Sharron) Watt of Brookville; Sara Mae (John) Louden, of West Liberty; James S. (Bonnie) of Houston, Texas. She has 10 grandchildren: Cheryl Duncan and Shawna Hill of Brookville, Shannon McBurney of New Albany, Laurie Geib, Harrisonburg, Va., Doug McNicoll of Minneapolis, Gwen Louden-Gerber of Harrisonburg, Va., Mindy Douthit of Wilmette, Ill., Wm. Nathan Watt of Houston, Texas, James Watt, Jr. of Austin, Texas, and Micah Watt of Tomball, Texas.
She has 19 great grandchildren Corey Duncan, Landon and Leila Hill, Sophia McBurney; Sara, Mary Pat, and Gracie McNicoll, Jessica Danielson, Kellie and Isaiah Geib, Maela, Phemie and Ophelia Gerber; Will, Austin, Rylin and Landon Douthit and Donovan and Elijah Watt. One great grandson, Jordan Duncan, preceded her in death in 1984. She has one great-great granddaughter, Delaney Duncan.
Mrs. Watt was active in the Presbyterian Church in Huntsville and Bellefontaine. She was lifelong member of Logan County Farm Bureau, and she was an employee of Merchant Industries before retirement. She considered her family and long life as a blessing.
The family wants to thank the staff at Logan Acres for their care and the kindness shown toward Mrs. Watt in her years with them.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
