Barbara E. Springer, 93, of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at her home.
Barbara was born in Huntsville on Feb. 6, 1927, to the late Grant Lyman and Harva Edith (Gartner) McCormick. She married Clarence N. “Slim” Springer on Aug. 26, 1945, in Covington, Ky., and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2010.
Barbara was also preceded in death by an infant son Thomas Dale Springer, sister Jean M. Roach, and a brother Sgt. Robert Dale McCormick, who was killed in action on Nov. 4, 1944 in France.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Karen Huntziner of Columbus, and Terry Sickles of Bellefontaine; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; niece Shirley Brunke and nephew Bob Roach.
Barbara worked as a bookkeeper for the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Office for many years. She attended Huntsville Presbyterian Church.
Due to the current pandemic, the family will have private services and burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
