Logan County Bikers for Santa is again planning to help make Christmas a little brighter for Logan County residents in need through the second annual Santa Toy Run slated for Saturday, Oct. 10.
This year’s event will start at 11 a.m.at Mad River Farm Market near West Liberty and travel across Logan County until reaching Desperados in Huntsville, where the group will enjoy a hog roast, live entertainment by the band Pegasus and multiple raffles.
The cost to participate is $10 or a new unwrapped toy of equal value per person. All makes of motorcycles are invited. Those in four-wheel vehicles are encouraged to join the group at Desperados at the conclusion of the ride .
For last year’s event, the group of 63 motorcyclists raised over $3,000 for Lutheran Community Services and provided nice amount of toys .Organizers said at least twice that number are expected to participate this year.
All of the funds raised stay local and are used to help the less fortunate of Logan County have a brighter Christmas. With all the issues of surrounding COVID-19 this year, the need will be much larger, as many local residents have been impacted by job loss and other related challenges, organizers related.
