A local businesswoman who is quickly becoming a familiar face on national television got a chance to speak Thursday at the highest podium in the land.
Brittany Saxton, who owns the Six-Hundred Downtown pizzeria in downtown Bellefontaine, joined President Donald Trump for a little light banter as he discussed the impact of recent tax cuts from the White House Rose Garden on Thursday afternoon.
She went to Washington with Jason Duff, founder of the downtown development company, Bellefontaine Ohio Properties, and Adam Rammel, owner of Brewfontaine, as part of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council’s support of the president’s tax plan.
“I am so proud of our community and it was an honor to be chosen to speak and represent our town,” Saxton said of the experience. “I want to be involved in understanding important policy changes that can help grow my business and benefit my employees, too.”
After some ribbing about not bringing the president a slice of pizza, she told Trump that the tax cut helped make it possible for her to invest in and open the Marketplace Bistro as a second business and provide health insurance to employees.
