A local motorist was killed in a single-vehicle crash south of Belle Center, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
Matthew Driscol, 47, of Belle Center, was pronounced dead at Mary Rutan Hospital following the 4:30 p.m. crash on County Road 39 north of Township Road 51.
He was northbound when he lost control, went off the right side of the road, overcorrected and rolled the 1998 GMC Jimmy several times, deputies report. Driscol was ejected from the sport utility vehicle, which was severely damaged.
The crash was still under investigation late Friday.
Deputies responded along with firefighters from Richland Township Fire Department and medics with the BMRT Ambulance District.
A Bellefontaine squad responded for mutual aid at 4:43 p.m. and met the BMRT squad en route to Mary Rutan, deputies report.
This is the fourth fatal crash in Logan County this year.
