A Lancaster man was arrested for felony charges Monday evening during a traffic stop on U.S. Route 33 and State Route 708, where officers of the Washington Township Police Department recovered three loaded handguns, along with methamphetamine and marijuana.
Curtis Coleman Jr., 26, was arrested during the 5:45 p.m. stop for charges of trafficking in drugs and having weapons under disability and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

Officers on patrol in the area had performed a registration check on the maroon minivan Coleman was driving and the information came back to a green GMC truck. They initiated the traffic stop, receiving back-up from deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
An odor of marijuana was detected and Coleman was asked to step out of the vehicle. Officers then recovered a loaded .380 handgun hidden under his waistband.
While searching the vehicle, officers located 13.9 grams of methamphetamine and several bags of marijuana, along with digital scales, pills and two more loaded hand guns, a Remington 45 ACP , and a Sig Sauer P250 45 automatic handgun. A large sum of cash was seized.
Officers note that Coleman is on parole, and was cited for driving without a license, fictitious plates and driving under suspension. The case will be reviewed by the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office for further charges.
