Linda L. Pearson, 82, of Saint Paris, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
Linda was born on September 15, 1941, in Piqua, Ohio to the late Melvin L. and Burnice L. (Mills) Wolfe.
Linda was a 1962 graduate of Newton High School. In her free time, Linda was a member of the Lena Baptist Church. She also enjoyed cooking, collecting ceramics, painting pottery, fishing, playing card and board games with her family and friends. She raised animals, tame and wild, showed poultry professionally and was one of the nation’s top breeders of old English game bantams. During her earlier years she was a competition shooter.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Monica (Doug) Funderburg; sons, Mark (Kay) and Perry (Christina) Pearson; “adopted” son, Bill Williams; grandchildren, Kelli (Michael) Rapelye-Thompson, Jericho Pearson, Brent Funderburg, Justus (Rachelle) Pearson, Brandon Rose, Logan Pearson, “adopted” grandchildren; Lee, Jake & Hillary Williams; great-grandchildren, Andrew Phillips, Cheyanne Phillips, Elliott Rapelye-Thompson, Benjamin Pearson, brother; Norman (Virginia) Wolfe as well as several nieces and nephews; her treasured best friend Geraldine Hill.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 49 years, Byron, whom she happily married on February 9, 1963; sister, Doris (Bob) Shellhouse; nieces Jeannine Ginsburg, Linda James; mother & father-in-law, Oscar and Ruby; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Pickering, Marjorie Boze; brother-in-law, Jerry Pearson; nephews, Steve Boze, Kent Boze & “adopted” daughter, Sue Anne Schilling.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 15, in Suber-Shively-Vernon Funeral Home, Fletcher.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, in Lena Baptist Church with Rev. Edward Sollenberger officiating.
Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
