More than 12,800 Logan County voters cast ballots in Tuesday’s primary, according to unofficial totals from the Logan County Board of Elections, and most participated as Republicans.
With 213 provisional votes to be counted March 30, 10,507 GOP ballots were cast along with 2,070 Democratic ballots, six Green Party and 35 nonpartisan.
The total number represents 42.25 percent of the county’s total registered voters.
Polls closed at 7:30 p.m. and votes first rolled from Precinct 2B into the election offices at 8:05 p.m. Liberty Township was the last precinct in at 9:48 p.m.
Board workers addressed a few issues early in the morning with ballot machines not working properly by replacing the malfunctioning 10-year-old units with backups.
They also had to run additional GOP ballots to 13 of the county’s 38 precincts.
Otherwise, there were no issues with voting in the county.
Election results will be certified March 30 after counting 213 provisional ballots.
